If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, you may have a corrupted Rocket League save file:
- Load Failure - failed to load file
- New item notifications that won’t go away
- XP Issues
- Presets not saving
- Stats not saving
- Game settings resetting
- Introduction tutorial video replaying each time Rocket League is launched
Creating a new save file for your account data may help. The steps below will create a backup of your save file. This will ensure that your replays, training sequences, video settings, and tutorial completion data are all saved.
A new save file won’t affect your progress or inventory in Rocket League. Some data will be removed in this process.

Back up your data:
- Click the Folder Icon in the bottom-left corner of your screen to open the File Explorer
- Click on Documents in the left-hand column
- Double-click on My Games
- Right-click on Rocket League
- Select Rename
- Name the folder Rocket League OLD
- Press the Enter Key on your keyboard
This is now a backup of your user data (Replays, Training Sequences, Video Settings, Tutorial Completion)
Creating a new save file:
Next, disable Cloud Saves for Rocket League. This prevents Epic Games Store from copying the corrupt save file onto your PC. It also allows Rocket League to create a new save file.
- Close Rocket League
- Open the Epic Games Launcher
- Click Settings
- Deselect the Enable Cloud Saves checkbox
- Launch Rocket League to generate a new save file (The tutorial video will play)
- Exit Rocket League
- Launch Rocket League again
The save file problems should now be resolved. You should not see the tutorial again.
There is now a new Rocket League folder. You can now recover Replays, Training Sequences, and Video Settings from the old file.
Copy over the old Config, Demos, and Training folders to the new save file:
- Ensure Rocket League is closed
- Click the Folder Icon on the bottom left of your screen
- Select Documents
- Double click on My Games
- Open the Rocket League OLD folder
- Open the TAGame folder
- Hold the Ctrl key and click the folders to be copied:
- Config
- Demos
- Training
- Press Ctrl+C to copy the selected folders
- Return to the My Games folder
- Open the Rocket League folder
- Open the TAGame folder
- Press Ctrl+V to paste the copied folders
- Select the Replace the files in the destination button
Enable Cloud Saves to upload the new save file to Epic Games Cloud Saves:
This will allow the save file to be used on another or a new PC.
- Open the Epic Games Launcher
- Click Settings
- Select the Enable Cloud Saves checkbox
- Launch Rocket League to replace the existing Cloud save
